This resource is aimed at anyone writing to students. It doesn’t look at the readability of academic text. It looks at how to improve the readability of administrative text – emails & letters.


Say it right – avoid name discrimination

This resource should be used by both student and staff alike. As a HE institution that fosters an inclusive environment of openness and welcomeness, it is important that we actively encourage the people around us to take care when pronouncing names unfamiliar to us. At the minimum level, we must respect people’s names and make a conscious effort to say them correctly.


Students with learning differences and disabilities

This resource should be used by academic staff and professional services staff who have a role in signposting students to appropriate support service or in teaching students.

This resource is aimed at university staff who are engaged in supporting student mobility. It considers pre-departure preparation, micro-aggression training, and resources for students.
